CONINCO witnesses historic moment: Inauguration of phase 1 projects and launch of the first flight at Long Thanh international airport

On the morning of December 19, 2025, amid the atmosphere of the entire Party, armed forces, and people striving to achieve accomplishments to welcome the 14th National Congress of the Party, a particularly large-scale political-economic event took place simultaneously across the country. From the central venue in Hanoi, the Government issued the command to commence and inaugurate a chain of 234 key infrastructure projects with a total investment of over 3.4 million billion VND. At the Long Thanh international airport venue in Dong Nai province, the inauguration ceremony for phase 1 projects and the official launch of the first flight took place, marking a strong transformation in Vietnam's aviation infrastructure in the new era.

The event at the Long Thanh venue was honored by the presence of comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh, Member of the Politburo, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, along with leaders from ministries, sectors, and Dong Nai Province. From the project owner ACV, there were Mr. Vu The Phiet, Chairman of the Board; Mr. Nguyen Tien Viet, Deputy General Director in charge, Director of the Long Thanh International Airport Project Management Board; and representatives from units participating in the project implementation.

Sharing the great joy of the nation, CONINCO's high-level delegation arrived early to witness the fruits after many years of effort. The delegation was led by Dr. Ha Minh, Chairman of the Board, along with Vice Chairman of the Board Le Thi Ngoc Bich, General Director Nguyen Dang Quang, members of the General Management Board, leaders of specialized management departments, and the elite consulting engineering team currently directly performing tasks at the project. The presence of CONINCO's leadership at the event not only affirmed the position of a leading consulting unit but also a commitment to quality and responsibility for this nationally symbolic project.

At exactly 8:20 a.m., pride burst forth when the flight numbered VN1 of Vietnam Airlines, operated by the modern wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliner, safely landed on runway No. 1 of Long Thanh airport. The flight departing from the capital Hanoi not only carried the high-level delegation and the first passengers to set foot on Vietnam's largest "super airport" but also carried expectations for an international-scale aviation transit hub. Immediately after, flights from Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways successively performed landing ceremonies amid the warm welcome from functional forces and consulting units.

The Long Thanh international airport project is a national key project aimed at becoming one of the most modern aviation transit hubs in the region. As a leading consulting unit attached to the Long Thanh project from the initial phases, CONINCO has affirmed its important role through undertaking key consulting packages such as design verification consulting, construction supervision, passenger terminal equipment installation; inspection and quality management of flight infrastructure, runways, and flight management systems... With solid professional capabilities, the presence of CONINCO engineers on the construction site over the years has tightly controlled every technical process, demonstrating the spirit of "Solid for the Future," overcoming all challenges regarding terrain and complex techniques of an international 4F-level airport, contributing to bringing the project to completion on schedule to welcome the Party and nation's significant event.

The inauguration of the projects and the launch of the first flight at the super project Long Thanh international airport phase 1 on schedule is not only evidence of the strong political determination of the Party and State but also demonstrates the intelligence and resilience of Vietnamese people in mastering the most complex construction technologies.

Speaking with directives from the central venue in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended the construction forces and consulting teams who braved the sun and rain, working through holidays and Tet to realize the aspiration for a regional-scale aviation hub.

After the inauguration ceremony and inaugural flight, the project owner ACV and related units will immediately enter the preparation phase for commercial operations, expected in the first half of 2026. This is an extremely important phase of technology handover, system trial operations, and personnel training to ensure that when officially operational, Long Thanh will handle up to 80% of international passenger volume, relieve pressure on Tan Son Nhat, and become one of the most dynamic aviation gateways in the region.

At the end of the ceremony, CONINCO's leadership directly met, presented gifts to encourage, and shared joy with the engineering team stationed at the project.
