CONINCO as the major sponsor of "29th National Workshop on Structural Engineering and Construction Technology"

With the goal of unceasingly popularizing the development of science and technology in the field of structural engineering and construction, in the morning of November 30, 2016, Vietnam Association of Structural Engineering and Construction Technology held "The 29th National Conference on Structural Engineering and Construction Technology” with the participation of leading organizations, individuals and experts in 3 fields: Civil and Industrial Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Irrigation Engineering. Consultant and Inspection Joint Stock Company of Construction Technology and Equipment is honored to be the major sponsor and participate in this workshop.

Attending the workshop, there were Mr. Do Duc Duy - Member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Construction, Deputy Minister of Construction; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Kiem - Former Minister of Construction and representatives of Departments, Institutes under Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Regarding the Vietnam Construction Association, there were Mr. Tran Ngoc Hung - President of Vietnam Construction Association, Dr. Pham Sy Liem - Vice President of Vietnam  Construction Association.

Regarding the Vietnam Association of Structural Engineering and Construction Technology, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Lien - President of the Association, and all leaders of the Association, Standing Board of the Association, members of the Executive Committee of the Association as well as representatives of the collective members.

Regarding the National University of Civil Engineering – the organizer, there were Dr. Pham Duy Hoa - Rector.

There were also representatives of specialized associations, training units, research institutes and enterprises in the field of construction.
 

Over the past 32 years of construction, operation and development, the Vietnam Association of Structural Engineering and Construction Technology (VASECT) has always been the focus of academic activity. Up to now, the Association has organized 28 international and national workshops. In recent years, the Association has held annual workshops specialized in structural engineering and construction technology in each field: Civil and Industrial Engineering (2011); Transportation Engineering (2012-2014) and Irrigation Engineering (2013). This workshop brings together the latest research findings in three areas of construction including Civil and Industrial Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Irrigation Engineering. The reports connect with the reality of key issues such as the current construction risk and the construction market in Vietnam.

Delivering the speech, Mr. Do Duc Duy - Vice Minister of Construction highly appreciated the activities of the Vietnam Association of Structural Engineering and Construction Technology in recent years. VASECT is a professional association gathering a large number of experts, individuals and organizations involved in the field of construction. The association always gains the belief of the Ministry of Construction in carrying out important tasks such as revising and compiling national codes and standards, technical specifications related to Structural Technology. The Association has contributed to promoting the development of the construction industry, helping the industry to actively integrate, transfer and improve the international construction technology according to a reasonable roadmap.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the appropriate selection of technology solutions plays an important role in the efficiency of construction investment, enhancing the competitiveness of the construction industry within the territory of Vietnam and the world. The Deputy Minister hoped that the workshop would be a place where experts, scientists and reporters exchanged and shared their expertise to further improve and develop Vietnam's construction industry.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa said that in the past years, the National University of Civil Engineering has always had close relationships with specialized associations, especially the Vietnam Association of Structural Engineering and Construction Technology. VASECT and the university have many effective collaborative programs that contribute to the development of the university and the Association.

At the workshop, leading experts in the field of construction presented 16 presentations on the structure and technology of construction in the world which can be applied in Vietnam.

The contents of the presentation include:

Super high-rise building technology: Trends of development and applications in Vietnam; Risks in construction in Vietnam; Introduction steel structure of the civil houses; Research results of application of new technology in soft surface maintenance for streets in Vietnam; Solutions of the foundation of high-rise building including a reduction effect on the basement; Calculation of steady sliding stability of bridge abutments on soft soil considering the resistance of bored piles; Some shortcomings in labor safety in construction; Solutions of occupational safety management to limit security incidents, construction accidents; Renewal and application of new technologies in the construction of traffic works; To study the stable calculation of floating docks in construction; Experiments and inspection of the Institute of Transport Science and Technology to contribute to improve the quality of traffic works; The curent construction market in Vietnam; Technical issues in the use of HDPE films for waterproofing of tailings ponds and irrigation dams; Introduction of technical guidelines for earth dam repairing and upgrading; New structural solution of sea dyke works in weak geological area; Some issues to ensure the tunneling process based on the NATM, using blasting tunnels near the existing facility; Developing the design standards in conformity with current conditions in Vietnam.

The workshop in November occurred successfully. It is to gratitude for the generations of teachers working in organizations, enterprises, units and professional associations. At the same time, it is also the core of the Vietnam Association of Structural Engineering and Construction Technology.
