On October 1, Mr. Nguyen Hong Quan, former Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and former Minister of Construction, visited and held a working meeting with Consultant and Inspection Joint Stock Company of Construction Technology and Equipment (CONINCO). The meeting focused on discussing human resource development strategies for the construction industry, the key role of construction supervision consultancy, and the mission of creating a sustainable living environment for the community.
Welcoming former Minister Nguyen Hong Quan were Dr. Ha Minh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CONINCO; Ms. Pham Thuy Linh, Manager of the Business Management Department; and Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Chau, Deputy Manager of the BoD Assistance Office.
Taking the Lead in Standardizing Professional Training
During the meeting, acknowledging CONINCO's extensive experience and professional capabilities, former Minister Nguyen Hong Quan shared his insights on human resource training in the construction industry. In particular, alongside the professional knowledge acquired at universities, practical work requires specialized, systematic and practice-oriented training materials specifically developed for the construction supervision consultancy profession. Currently, most of the skills required to handle complex on-site situations are acquired and developed by engineers through practical work experience, combined with professional training programmes undertaken after graduation.
With a view to creating sustainable value, former Minister Nguyen Hong Quan suggested that CONINCO take the lead in compiling its practical experience into a set of specialized and standardized training materials for construction supervision consultancy. Having a systematic body of professional reference materials would provide a solid foundation for the Company to independently train its core engineering workforce. He also recommended that CONINCO strengthen its cooperation with the Vietnam Association of Construction Consultants (VACC) to standardize these materials, thereby sharing professional knowledge and making a practical contribution to the development of highly qualified human resources for the construction industry as a whole

Design Consultancy and Construction Supervision Consultancy: Key Safeguards for Community Health and Safety
Sharing his views on professional ethics, former Minister Nguyen Hong Quan emphasized the close relationship between stakeholders in the construction industry and the interests of the community. While design consultancy lays the foundation for creating a better living environment for people, construction supervision consultancy serves as the final and most important safeguard in ensuring construction quality.
Every acceptance decision and confirmation made by the construction supervision team represents a firm commitment to the project's technical standards and safety before it is put into operation. Therefore, construction supervision engineers must approach their profession with a strong sense of responsibility and a genuine concern for people, placing community health and the living environment at the centre of their assessment and inspection activities.
Bringing Together Expertise and Sharing Value for the Overall Development of the Industry
On behalf of CONINCO's leadership, Dr. Ha Minh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed his appreciation and sincere thanks to former Minister Nguyen Hong Quan for his valuable insights and strategic guidance for the Company.
Reporting at the meeting, Dr. Ha Minh shared that throughout its development, CONINCO has consistently remained committed to quality and sustainable development. The Company's leadership fully agreed with and seriously took note of the former Minister's recommendations. Regarding the proposed development of specialized training materials, Dr. Ha Minh expressed his strong support for the initiative. These materials would not only serve as an intellectual asset for the Company's in-house training activities but also represent CONINCO's commitment to contributing to education and the overall development of Vietnam's construction industry. The Company will soon bring together its collective expertise to turn this meaningful initiative into reality.
The meeting concluded successfully, further affirming CONINCO's reputation and standing in the construction consultancy sector. With guidance from former industry leaders and the determination of its management, CONINCO remains committed to upholding its role as a trusted safeguard of construction quality and continuously improving its services to help create a safer and better living environment for the community, in line with its philosophy: “Assurance for the Future.”
