CONINCO successfully completed the Supervision Consultancy for the Dien Bien Airport Expansion Investment Project

On the morning of December 24th, at Dien Bien Airport, the Committee for State Capital Management at Enterprises, the Ministry of Transport, and the People's Committee of Dien Bien Province held the inauguration ceremony for the Dien Bien Airport Expansion Investment Project, which was invested in by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV). The project has an important significance in celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of the Transport Sector. Construction Management Center No. 4 (T.QX4) has successfully completed the task of project supervision consultancy.
At the inauguration ceremony, there were Comrade Pham Minh Chinh - Member of the Politburo, Prime Minister; Comrade Nguyen Van Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dien Bien Province. On the side of Dien Bien Province, there were Comrades: Mua A Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Thanh Do - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Lo Van Phuong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; other members of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; Dien Bien War Veterans; as well as leaders of provincial departments, agencies, the investor, and units participating in the project.
On the CONINCO side, there were Mr. Nguyen Huu Truong - Deputy General Director; Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Director of Construction Management Center No. 4 (T.QX4); and Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Supervision Consultant Team Leader.
The Dien Bien Airport Expansion Investment Project, which began on January 22, 2022, with a total investment of over 1.467 billion VND, has now been completed with a new 2.4 km long, 45m wide runway, two new ends, a new aircraft parking area with 4 positions, and reinforced concrete structures. It is capable of accommodating new generation aircraft such as A320, A321, or equivalent; with a passenger terminal design capacity of 300,000 to 500,000 passengers/year, creating efficient connections between Dien Bien and other economic regions in the country through modern turboprop aircraft.
The project's completion holds significant importance, contributing to driving economic, cultural, and social development, while also ensuring national defense and security in the Northwest region of the country. It also serves as a foundation for Dien Bien province to further promote investment activities in sectors with potential and strengths, particularly in tourism. This project creates momentum and a springboard for Dien Bien province to break through and advance, and its operation meets the expectations of the people of all ethnic groups in Dien Bien province and tourists visiting Dien Bien.

During the project implementation, CONINCO has closely coordinated with the Investor, participating units... to ensure that the construction is carried out in accordance with the approved design, adheres to the construction standards and acceptance criteria applied in the project, meets the requirements for quality, as well as occupational safety and environmental hygiene, and brings the project to completion on schedule. CONINCO and Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Director of T.QX4, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Supervision Consultant Team Leader, were honored to receive a commendation from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien Province for their outstanding performance in the project.
