CONINCO joined the delegation the Ministry Construction to attend the 11 th World Urban Forum in Poland

From June 25th to July 6th, Deputy General Director Nguyen Dang Quang - representative of Consultant and Inspection Joint Stock Company of Construction Technology and Equipment (CONINCO., JSC) joined the Delegation of the Ministry of Construction led by Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung to attend the 11th World Urban Forum (WUF 11) in Katowice city, Poland. During the business trip, the delegation visited, conducted field surveys in a number of European countries, worked with the German development cooperation agency at the invitation of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to exchange ideas, learn about urban development, sustainable urban infrastructure solutions, adaptation to climate change.

The 11th World Urban Forum, with the theme "Transforming our cities towards a better urban future", which aims to address solutions to current problems: Poverty, inequality, recession environment, climate change and conflict. It also calls for action and commitment from Governments around the globe.

Attending the Forum, the Vietnamese delegation visited and connected at 20 events with other countries, among which the highlight was: Malaysia's Open Discussion session with the participation of the Minister of Housing and Local Government to promote the sustainability and urban resilience capability that created Malaysia's livable cities and communities.

The delegation participated in the event of connecting session 6 on Cities + Culture + Climate: A gathering place of green cultural, heritage and creative cities: Culture and heritage help respond to climate change and transform cities for a better urban future.

Networking session 15 on Implementation of the Spanish Urban Agenda (SUA) - a key and strategic document to achieve sustainable urbanization according to the criteria of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the principles of the New Urban Agenda for the EU published in 2019. Session 4 on urban resilience through action programs, lessons learned from South Africa.

Session 12, among Finland and international partners, representatives of local and regional governments, representatives from the national associations of local governments and international organizations. The event promotes knowledge sharing, discussion of best practices and innovative approaches to accelerate the implementation of the 17 sustainability goals at the local level, specifically based on experience of cities in Finland, in collaboration with institutes, national associations and ministries, branches.

In addition, the delegation also attended Special Session 2: Urban Data and Circular Economy. The event would focus on two aspects of sustainable cities: technological innovation for urban governance and institutional structures to support new models of cities and comprehensive data systems. The delegation also listened to discussions on key issues and topics such as: Options for redesigning the economy to achieve equitable and sustainable urban development; challenges and opportunities to promote circular economy in the construction environment and urban areas; business models, financial models, strategies and tools to promote the circular economy…

The delegation visited 90 exhibition booths at the Forum

During the business trip, the delegation also visited 90 exhibition booths introducing innovative solutions of international organizations, community organizations and leaders in the process of sustainable urbanization from all over the world; participated in sideline meetings with Organizations at the 11th World Urban Forum (WUF 11) from June 27-28 in Poland.

On this business trip, the delegation worked with the Hungarian Embassy in the field of urban construction and development, learned management experience, experience in building a livable city, and preserving the old town in Budapest.

From July 2nd to 5th, 2022, at the invitation of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the delegation went to Berlin - Germany, to conduct field planning of urban transport systems, infrastructure, as well as learn from the experience of preserving the cultural and historical space of Berlin; working with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on technical infrastructure and urban development, sustainable urban infrastructure solutions, adaptation to climate change; Integrating climate change adaptation into development planning integrated planning and budget allocation for implementation; Survey of some commercial urban areas, adapting to climate change in Potsdam.
