Inspired by the image of Ngu Mountain, Phu Bai International Airport is one of the most unique aviation projects in Vietnam when built according to Hue royal architecture with layers of roofs stacked on top of each other. The consortium of Consultant and Inspection Joint Stock Company of Construction Technology and Equipment and AZUSA SEKKEI Co., Ltd (Japan) is the main design consultant of this unique project. Started in December 2019, Passenger Terminal T2 of Phu Bai International Airport is invested by Airports Corporation of Vietnam - JSC (ACV) with a total capital of VND 2,250 billion. The Passenger Terminal has a construction floor area of about 22,380 m2, expected to serve 5 million passengers per year (including 4 million domestic passengers), ensuring to serve 2,500 passengers during peak hours.
During the Prime Minister's project inspection at the end of March 2023, the PMU reported that the project has been constructed about 95% (85 % has been accepted). According to the plan, the Passenger Terminal can be put into operation on the upcoming holiday of April 30 - May 1.
Phu Bai International Airport is a key project of the province. Therefore, difficulties and problems in the implementation process are focused on solving.
