CONINCO attended the Grand Opening Ceremony Van Don International Airport - Quang Ninh

On December 30, 2018, Sun Group Corporation held the opening ceremony of Van Don International Airport after 30 months of construction at Quang Ninh province. Quang Ninh officially became the 22nd locality in the country to have a civil airport.

The opening ceremony was held at the 2nd floor of the airport terminal area. The event was attended by leaders of the Party, State, leaders of Quang Ninh province, Sun Group Corporation, ... On the CONINCO side, Mr. Nguyen Van Cong - Chairman of the Board of Directors and Mr. Le Kim Lieu - Head of Representative Office In Hai Phong and other consultant delegation officers attended the opening ceremony.

The signature mark in the design of Van Don airport is the breathtaking details of the mountain, the Van Don sea, the Ha Long Bay - the symbol of Quang Ninh. The roof of the station is like triangular sails stacked in the direction of the ocean. The air traffic control station is like a horizontal lighthouse, prominent in the countryside of Van Don.

Van Don international airport started in 2015 in Doan Ket commune, Van Don district (Quang Ninh), on an area of 325 hectares, was invested in the BOT form with a total investment of 7,463 billion VND, in which the state budget is 734 billion. With 22 items in the airport area (runway, taxiway, parking lot) and 27 ground area items, transport infrastructure highlights are invested in the BOT form, this is the airport reaching 4E (according to the standard code of the International Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO) and the military grade II airport - can accommodate large aircraft.

The capacity of the airport is 2.5 million passengers per year, peak hours can accommodate 1,250 passengers. By 2020, the parking system will reach at least four aircraft parking positions; expanded to at least seven aircraft parking positions by 2030.

The airport intends to operate routes to and from Northeast Asia (Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan) and Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Cambodia). In the domestic market, the investor focuses on central and southern regions such as Hue, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Da Lat, Phu Quoc.

With experience and capacity, CONINCO has performed well the work as consultants for the supervision of the flight zone and the take-off route system for these two projects. The success of the project has confirmed CONINCO's position in key projects in Vietnam in general and projects in the aviation sector in particular.
