CONINCO participates in the implementation the largest Samsung R&D Center in Southeast Asia placed in Hanoi

On March 2, 2020, Samsung Vietnam announced the start of building a new Research and Development (R&D) Center with the largest scale in Southeast Asia. CONINCO - Technology, Equipment and Construction Inspection Joint Stock Company is proud to be the chosen party to provide supervision consultancy services for this project.

The R&D Center is the first building built by Samsung Electronics overseas for its research and development focus. Also, this R&D center is seen to be the largest scale center that has been built compared to other FDI centers in Vietnam with an investment of approximately 220 million USD on a total construction area of 11,603 m2 and a floor area of 79,511 m2 in Tay Ho Tay urban area (Hanoi). The building is designed with 16 floors, 3 basements and is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.

In addition to modern facilities and equipment for research in the field of mobile and network systems, the Center also provides an innovative and user-friendly working environment with facilities such as gym, clubroom, internal dining room, sky garden, etc. When the Center goes into operation, it is expected to increase the number of employees from 2,200 people to 3,000 people.

Through the construction of a modern R&D center, Samsung expects the Vietnamese engineers' research capabilities to be enhanced, not only in product development but also in research areas that are considered as a trend in the world nowadays including artificial intelligence (AI), internet of thing (IoT), big data (Big Data), 5G network, etc., creating a premise for Vietnam to be able to stay ahead of the changes of the revolution of the Industrial 4.0.

The implementation of this project also affirms that Vietnam will be known as the largest production base of Samsung but also a strategic center for research and development of Samsung. The construction of a new R&D center is a huge step forward in the 12-year investment journey of Samsung in Vietnam.
