On the morning of January 28, 2026, the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone and Sun Group organized the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Bai Dat Do Mixed-use Urban Area and the Nui Ong Quan Mixed-use Ecological Urban Area. These are two of the iconic infrastructure projects within the list of 21 works approved to serve the APEC 2027 Year. Continuing the ongoing projects in Phu Quoc, the Project Investment and Development Center (T.DA) of CONINCO (Consultancy and Technology, Equipment and Project Inspection Joint Stock Company) is honored to be entrusted by the Investor with the role of Construction Supervision Consultant (CSC) for the Bai Dat Do Mixed-use Urban Area project.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, Chairman of the National Committee for APEC 2027; Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung; leaders of ministries, sectors, and local authorities; representatives of the Investor and project participating units.
Representing CONINCO were Mr. Nguyen Huu Truong – Deputy General Director, Mr. Tran Xuan Duong – Director of Center T.DA, and the project's construction supervision team.
The Bai Dat Do Mixed-use Urban Area spans over 88 hectares with an expected total investment of approximately 64,000 billion VND. It is developed along the APEC Boulevard axis, flanked by towers up to 40 stories high, integrating luxury hotels, commercial centers, and coastal squares. The project’s highlight is a cluster of 15 high-rise coastal hotels with nearly 6,500 rooms, creating a "hotel city" in the heart of the pearl island, Phu Quoc. This complex is expected to transform Bai Dat Do into a "second Sydney"—world-class yet deeply rooted in local identity.
The project is located adjacent to the APEC Convention and Exhibition Center, the Multi-purpose Performance House, and APEC Park, situated on the APEC Boulevard axis with convenient connectivity to the expanded Phu Quoc International Airport in just 15–20 minutes. Upon completion, the project will provide thousands of luxury rooms, playing a key role in welcoming delegations and international guests attending the APEC 2027 Summit.
Furthermore, the project planning allocates a major portion of the area to landscapes and public spaces, catering to urban life, cultural activities, festivals, and events. This establishes a foundation for Phu Quoc's post-APEC 2027 development as a national and international center for island tourism and services.
Entrusted and credited by the Investor, CONINCO continues to be assigned the construction supervision for the Bai Dat Do Mixed-use Urban Area project. CONINCO's involvement is the result of relentless efforts and professional capacity proven through iconic projects serving the APEC 2027 Summit: TAPEC Convention and Exhibition Center: A key project with stringent technical and aesthetic requirements; Phu Quoc International Airport Expansion Project: Increasing capacity to 18 million passengers per year, serving as the gateway to welcome international heads of state.
Also on the morning of January 28, 2026, the Prime Minister personally conducted a site inspection and presented gifts to encourage the participating units. The Prime Minister emphasized the spirit of "Right Choice - Rapid Implementation - Result-Oriented Execution" and highly appreciated the efforts of consulting units and contractors in ensuring "lightning-speed" progress to timely serve the Summit.
The close attention and direction from the head of Government serve as a great motivation for CONINCO's engineering team stationed on-site.
