CONINCO and NIPPON KOEI (Japan): Strengthening Strategic Cooperation, Orienting Sustainable Development

On the afternoon of March 6, 2026, at the Head Office, the leadership of CONINCO welcomed and held a working session with representatives of the Nippon Koei Group (Japan). The visit not only reinforces a collaborative relationship spanning over a decade but also is an important stepping stone for both parties to exchange and formalize companionship opportunities in large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.
Attending the working session, on the side of CONINCO were Dr. Ha Minh – Chairman of the Board of Directors; Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Bich – Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang – General Director; Mr. Le Thanh Minh – Deputy General Director, Head of the Board of Directors' Office; Ms. Pham Thuy Linh – Head of Business Department; Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Chau – Deputy Head of the Board of Directors' Office.
On the side of the Nippon Koei Group were Mr. Toshiyuki Fukuda – General Director of Nippon Koei Vietnam Company; Ms. Nguyen Thi Viet Bang – Head of Business Department.
Spring greetings and new joys
In the warm and energetic atmosphere of the early days of Spring 2026, representatives of leaders from both sides exchanged their best New Year wishes. Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Ha Minh, General Director Nguyen Dang Quang, and Mr. Toshiyuki Fukuda – General Director of Nippon Koei Vietnam Company expressed their delight at reuniting. Notably, this meeting is even more meaningful when many members of both sides are serving in new positions, promising to bring fresh vitality and strong momentum to the bilateral partnership.
Continuing the journey of companionship and promoting efficiency from the Cooperative Agreement (MOU)
Opening the working session, the leaders of both sides looked back together on their decade-long journey of attachment. In particular, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in 2025 established a solid framework for action, placing a primary focus on the railway sector and urban infrastructure development. This working session continued to evaluate the progress made, while updating market fluctuations to outline an effective approach strategy.
Sharing a strategic vision for regional reach
At the meeting, Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Ha Minh shared CONINCO’s strategic direction for the coming time. Not only maintaining its leading domestic position, CONINCO is actively expanding its international network, deploying engineers and experts to participate in projects in the Southeast Asia region.
In response, from the Nippon Koei side, Mr. Toshiyuki Fukuda highly appreciated CONINCO’s technical capacity and deep understanding of the local market. Mr. Toshiyuki Fukuda also shared about Nippon Koei’s restructuring and ecosystem expansion strategy in the Southeast Asian market—specifically the integration of world-class architectural design and urban planning values. The combination of the multidisciplinary consulting capabilities of Nippon Koei and CONINCO is expected to create a consulting joint venture with superior competitive strength.
Anticipating the wave of public investment and railway projects
An important highlight of the working session was the in-depth assessments of Vietnam’s transportation infrastructure landscape. Both parties agreed that the upcoming period will be a concentrated phase of key public investment projects. CONINCO and Nippon Koei discussed the orientation for participating in high-tech infrastructure projects such as: Urban Railway lines, the long-term vision for the North-South High-Speed Railway axis…
Connecting the community and sharing knowledge
Not stopping at figures and projects, CONINCO and Nippon Koei also discussed plans for sharing technology, professional expertise, and specifically, a scholarship program for Vietnamese students in Japan. This is a testament to the long-term vision of both enterprises in investing in high-quality human resources for the construction industry.
Ending the working session, the leaders of CONINCO and Nippon Koei once again reaffirmed their commitment to close companionship.
