On the morning of August 25, at Noi Bai International Airport, the delegation of Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung checked the progress of implementing the project of renovating and upgrading the runway and taxiway of Noi Bai international airport and listen to the report on planning adjustment of Noi Bai International Airport Consultant and Inspection Joint Stock Company of Construction technology and Equipment - CONINCO is the supervision consultant unit for this project.
Deputy Prime Minister assessed that this project requires the close supervision of the Thang Long Project Management Board together with contractors because it must ensure construction and operate the airport safely. The Deputy Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Transport to direct the Thang Long Project Management Board, the construction contractors to ensure the quality, progress, and safety during the construction process
The Deputy Prime Minister also asked related ministries and branches to give priority to capital support for urgent public investment projects to soon complete and put into use to meet the transport needs of people and businesses.
Regarding the implementation progress, construction progress in Noi Bai reached 7%, disbursed 260 billion VND. Currently, the contractor has mobilized more than 130 locomotives and equipment with nearly 400 additional officers and workers to meet the construction progress. The Thang Long Project Management Board is submitting a plan to shorten the completion of 3,000 m of the 1B runway on November 30 to put into operation on December 31, 2020.
