CONINCO Leadership Embarks on Business Trip to Lao PDR

To further its international growth strategy, Consultant and Inspection Joint Stock Company of construction technology and equipment (CONINCO., Jsc) sent a delegation to the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) for a three-day business trip from September 5th to 7th, 2024. The delegation aimed to strengthen ties with the Lao Government, explore potential project opportunities, and establish relationships with local consulting firms.

The delegation was led by Mr. Phan Ngoc Cuong, Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of CONINCO., Jsc. Accompanying him were Deputy General Directors Mr. Nguyen Huu Truong, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, and Mr. Nguyen Dac Phuong, as well as Mr. Le Xuan Tuong, Chief Accountant and Head of Finance and Investment; Mrs. Pham Thuy Linh, Head of Business Development; Mr. Nguyen Tien Doat, Chief of Office; and Mr. Vu Thanh Tuan, Director of CONINCO. - Laos..

CONINCO Meets with Vietnamese Embassy

The delegation's first stop was the Vietnamese Embassy in Vientiane on the afternoon of September 5th. They were warmly welcomed by Mr. Phan Minh Chien, Charge d'affaires a.i., Mr. Le Quang Long, Chief of Office, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, Deputy Chief of Office, and other diplomatic officials.

During the meeting, Mr. Cuong provided an overview of CONINCO's achievements over its 45-year history, highlighting recent successes and ongoing projects in Vietnam. He emphasized the company's interest in expanding its services in Laos, particularly in sectors like transportation, energy, and national defense and security, where CONINCO has significant experience. Mr. Cuong expressed the company's desire to contribute to Laos' socio-economic development and strengthen the already strong bond between the two nations.

Mr. Chien expressed his appreciation for CONINCO's proactive approach to entering the Lao market and congratulated the company on its 45 years of success. He shared insights into the current economic climate and potential opportunities for infrastructure and energy development projects in Laos. Mr. Chien emphasized the Embassy's commitment to actively support and facilitate CONINCO's endeavors in Laos.

CONINCO Collaborates with Ministry of Public Works and Transport

On September 6th, the delegation met with representatives from the Lao Ministry of Public Works and Transport. Mr. Cuong provided an overview of CONINCO's history, expertise, and experience in managing complex projects. He highlighted the company's work on major infrastructure projects in Vietnam, including the North-South high-speed rail project.

Mr. Cuong expressed CONINCO's keen interest in collaborating with local firms like LTEC, a well-established consulting firm under the Ministry with expertise in areas such as surveying, transportation engineering, and construction supervision. He emphasized that by combining their strengths, both companies could contribute significantly to Laos' development. Mr. Cuong also provided an update on the GMS4 project, an initiative led by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), assuring them of CONINCO's commitment to ensure timely completion. He concluded by extending an invitation to the Ministry's leadership to visit CONINCO's headquarters in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Lanh Senaphone praised CONINCO's track record and expressed his support for the proposed collaboration with LTEC. He believed that CONINCO's expertise and international experience would benefit LTEC and enhance their competitiveness in securing future projects. Mr. Senaphone encouraged both companies to establish a knowledge-sharing system to mutually develop their capabilities. He also pledged the Ministry's support in facilitating their partnership and future project endeavors.

Regarding the GMS4 project, Mr. Senaphone urged CONINCO and the Department of Housing and Urban Development to maintain close communication and resolve any challenges promptly to ensure timely delivery and uphold CONINCO's brand reputation. He graciously accepted the invitation to visit Vietnam and CONINCO's headquarters.

CONINCO Engages with Department of Housing and Urban Development

The delegation continued their trip with a visit to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, where they met with Deputy Director Visaphone Inthilath and other representatives. Both parties shared details about their areas of expertise, experience on current projects, and future aspirations. The meeting emphasized mutual support and collaboration in developing urban areas, particularly through participation in ODA-funded and ADB projects. CONINCO reiterated its commitment to leveraging its experience, qualified personnel, and robust quality management system to successfully implement projects in Laos.

Building Connections with Local Businesses

To further solidify their presence in Laos, the CONINCO delegation met with APA Incorporate sole, a highly regarded multidisciplinary architectural and engineering firm established in 2002. Both companies explored potential avenues for collaboration, recognizing the benefits of combining CONINCO's extensive experience in various sectors with APA's deep knowledge of the Lao market.

This strategic partnership aims to enhance both companies' competitiveness in securing larger-scale projects, including those funded by international organizations.

Managing Director of APA, Mr. Vongphai Bounmanee, expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with CONINCO. He acknowledged the value of partnering with a leading Vietnamese firm with vast experience. Through their discussions, both parties identified several areas of synergy and agreed on future collaborations. They committed to ongoing communication, knowledge exchange, and mutual support to leverage each other's strengths and expand into new markets.
