On CONINCO’s side, together with General Director Nguyen Dang Quang, the reception included Mr. Nguyen Luong Binh – Deputy General Director, Head of Technical Management Department; Mr. Le Thanh Minh – Deputy General Director, BoD Assistance Office; Ms. Pham Thuy Linh – Head of Business Department; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh – Director of Architectural Center 1 (T.A1); and Mr. Trinh Hong Khanh – Director of Design Management Center (T.DT).

Overview of the working session.

At the beginning of the meeting, both sides introduced their corporate history and core capabilities. UCD is known as the first transportation design unit in China listed on the Hong Kong stock market, established in 1958 to serve Beijing’s historic Metro Line 1. To date, with nearly 5,000 employees, UCD provides comprehensive services from design, consulting, and construction to operation, having participated in urban railway design for more than 40 cities in China. The company has also led and contributed to the development of many national standards in the transportation sector.

UCD leaders introduce achievements and market expansion plans in Vietnam.

Expressing his impression with UCD’s achievements, General Director Nguyen Dang Quang introduced CONINCO’s 47-year journey of formation and development. From a state-owned research institute, CONINCO has grown into a leading consulting enterprise with 1,600 experts and engineers. Although it possesses outstanding strengths in civil, industrial, infrastructure, airports, and ports… the company is gradually accumulating experience to expand into the urban railway sector.

General Director Nguyen Dang Quang introduces CONINCO’s core capabilities and development strategy for the coming period.

The combination of UCD’s practical experience and CONINCO’s development orientation led to an open and effective professional discussion. General Director Nguyen Dang Quang emphasized CONINCO’s desire to cooperate with UCD in urban railway and high-speed railway projects, while expanding collaboration in advanced urban planning approaches, particularly the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) model.

Appreciating CONINCO’s recent achievements and thanking General Director Nguyen Dang Quang for his sharing, UCD representatives proposed organizing specialized exchange sessions between the two sides. UCD is ready to share experience from real projects on investment planning methods, technical solutions, and economic efficiency calculations, while CONINCO shares its deep understanding of the local market and the current system of standards and regulations, acting as a bridge to support UCD in approaching the Vietnamese market. This forms a favorable foundation for both sides to jointly research, provide consulting services, and evaluate feasibility for potential projects.

The working session concluded successfully, opening many cooperation opportunities between the two sides.

Closing the bilateral meeting, leaders of both sides highly appreciated the cooperation potential, agreed to maintain regular information exchange, and prepare specialized seminars in the near future. The working session helped both parties gain a deeper understanding of each other’s capabilities and created an important foundation for CONINCO and UCD to gradually build a cooperation roadmap, making positive contributions to the development of modern transportation infrastructure in Vietnam.
