A high-level delegation from CONINCO conducts High-Speed Rail Technology Survey in China

As Vietnam advances towards developing key transport infrastructure projects, particularly urban rail systems and high-speed railways, proactively accessing and mastering advanced global technologies is essential. Strongly affirming its pioneering role and strategic vision, from October 13 to 17, 2025, a high-level delegation from CONINCO conducted an in-depth survey of the world's most developed high-speed rail system in China. This is a crucial step to build a solid foundation, ensuring CONINCO is prepared to participate in future national key transport infrastructure projects.

The business trip was led by Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Phan Ngoc Cuong, and General Director, Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan. Accompanying the delegation were Deputy General Directors: Nguyen Luong Binh, Tran Thanh Hai, Nguyen Dac Phuong, along with leaders from specialized departments, technical experts, and trainees from the Company's rail course. Notably, the delegation also included two senior experts from the University of Transport and Communications (UTC): Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hien – Head of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering; and Dr. Mai Tien Chinh – Head of the Railway Department, Faculty of Civil Engineering.

Establishing Deep Partnership with the "Cradle" of the Railway Industry

During the trip, the delegation held an official working session with Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) – one of the world's most prestigious training and research institutions in rail transport technology. Welcoming the delegation from SWJTU were Ms. Xin Ling – Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Vice Dean of the Tianyou Railway Institute; Ms. Li Yixuan – Head of the Tianyou Railway Institute Office; Mr. Qing Song – Foreign Management Service Office; and Mr. He Jiaguo – Officer of the Tianyou Railway Institute Office.

The working session took place in a formal and cordial atmosphere at the university's headquarters. The two sides exchanged insights on new technologies, experience in managing and operating high-speed rail systems, and discussed future cooperation opportunities in research, training, and technology transfer.

Following the discussion, the CONINCO delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Rail Transit Vehicle System and the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education for Tunnel Engineering, accessing the most advanced R&D achievements which underpin the rapid development of high-speed rail.

On-Site Survey and Experience of the High-Speed Rail System

To gain a comprehensive view, the CONINCO delegation directly experienced and surveyed modern transport infrastructure projects. The delegation traveled on high-speed trains at speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour on the Chengdu – Chongqing and Chongqing – Beijing routes, assessing the operational quality and technical solutions at massive projects such as:
•    Chongqing East Station Super Hub: The world's largest high-speed train station, symbolizing large-scale planning and infrastructure construction prowess.
Liziba Station and Beijing Station: A groundbreaking technical solution where the urban rail line passes through a 19-story building, demonstrating creative design thinking integrated harmoniously with the urban space.

Proactively Engaging, Securing the Future

The business trip to China helped CONINCO establish a cooperation relationship with Southwest Jiaotong University, opening channels for professional exchange, training, and scientific research, ensuring CONINCO remains current with global trends. It facilitated direct access and understanding of the core technologies in the design, construction, and operation of high-speed rail systems, from track infrastructure and signaling systems to smart station solutions. The lessons learned from surveying complex and large-scale infrastructure projects provide a solid foundation for CONINCO to confidently participate in consulting and implementing mega-projects in Vietnam.

With foresight and meticulous preparation, CONINCO affirms its readiness to contribute to the nation by building modern, safe, and efficient transport infrastructure, thereby promoting socio-economic development and elevating the country's stature.
