CONINCO welcomed the Leader of Ministry of Public Works and Transport of the Laos People’s Democratic Republic for a visit and working session

In response to CONINCO's invitation, during his working trip to Vietnam, on the morning of November 2nd, 2023, Mr. Sompong Sithivong, Director of the Department of Water Supply of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of the Laos People's Democratic Republic, visited and had a working session at CONINCO. The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Nguyen Van Cong, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Phan Ngoc Cuong, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director; Mr. Le Thanh Minh, Deputy General Director, Manager of the Office of the Board of Director; Mrs. Pham Thuy Linh, Manager of Business Management Department; and Ms. Pham Hong Diep, Representative of CONINCO in Laos.

In delivering his speech at the reception, Chairman of the Board of Directors Nguyen Van Cong expressed his gratitude and joy for welcoming Director Sompong Sithivong to CONINCO. During the working session, Chairman Nguyen Van Cong introduced the history and development of CONINCO, its early days as a state research institute to its transformation into a business model. Today, CONINCO has become a leading consulting company in Vietnam, operating in multiple industries and achieving success in various key areas such as civil construction, urban infrastructure, and transportation, imprinting its mark on thousands of projects, especially national key projects. CONINCO is also honored to have the trust of the governments of Vietnam and Laos in implementing several national-level projects, including iconic projects in Laos such as the Lao National Assembly Office, the Lao National Sports Training Center, the Lao-Viet Friendship High School, the Luang Prabang High School, the Vietnamese Language Department at the National University of Vientiane. Currently, CONINCO is also implementing several projects in Laos, including the Scale-up of Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Project (SWSSHP) funded by the World Bank and supervised by the Department of Water Supply under the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos.


Impressed by the scale of CONINCO and grateful for the warm reception, Director Sompong Sithivong highly appreciated CONINCO's achievements and capabilities during its nearly half-century of construction and development. The Director stated that CONINCO is not only a leading consulting firm in Vietnam but has also established a strong reputation and brand in the Laotian market. Regarding the SWSSHP project, which is supervised by the Department of Water Supply and implemented by CONINCO, Director Sompong Sithivong expressed confidence in Vietnam and trust in CONINCO to successfully complete the work. Additionally, the Director expressed the desire for CONINCO's consulting team to share technical and professional expertise with engineers and architects in Laos, in order to work together and develop collaboratively.

In expressing his gratitude towards Director Sompong Sithivong for acknowledging the consulting capacity of Vietnam in general and CONINCO in particular, Chairman Nguyen Van Cong committed to deploying experienced engineers with proficient language skills to implement the SWSSHP project in Laos, ensuring successful completion of the assigned tasks.

The delegation visited the exhibition area showcasing images of the key projects implemented by CONINCO.

In recognition of Chairman Nguyen Van Cong for his sharing, Director Sompong Sithivong hoped that CONINCO will continue to participate in more projects in Laos. At the same time, the Director sent an invitation to Chairman Nguyen Van Cong and CONINCO's Board of Directors to visit Laos and learn about cooperation opportunities in the future. With CONINCO's strong development in recent times, Director Sompong Sithivong believed that CONINCO will continue to achieve more success.

The reception successfully took place in a friendly atmosphere. On the future path of development, CONINCO hopes to continue receiving trust, support, and assistance the governments and people of both ries to contribute to the local socio-economic development and the special traditional relationship between the two nations. CONINCO wishes Director Sompong Sithivong and his family good health and success.
