CONINCO welcomes Cuban Minister Construction René Mesa Antonio Villafaña

On the morning of March 28th, 2023, at the headquarters of CONINCO., JSC – CONINCO Tower, Consultant and Inspection Joint Stock Company of Construction Technology and Equipment (CONINCO., JSC) had a meeting with Cuban Minister of Construction René Mesa Antonio Villafaña.

Attending the meeting, on the Cuban side, there were Mr. René Mesa Antonio Villafaña - Cuban Minister of Construction; Mr. Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam; Ms. Irmina Perojo Bellido de Luna - Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam; Mr. Ariel Ruedas Ortiz - Chairman of DINVAI Construcciones S.A.; Mr. Francisco Díaz Hernández - Chairman of GEICON Group (Construction Materials and Industry Corporation) and the delegation accompanying the Minister.

On the side of Ministry of Construction of Vietnam, there was Ms. Pham Thi Hong My - Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department.

Welcoming the delegation, on the side of CONINCO, there were Mr. Phan Ngoc Cuong – Member of the Board of Management, General Director; Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan - Member of the Board of Management, Deputy General Director and Members of the Board of Directors, Managers of Administrative departments.

Speaking at the meeting, General Director Phan Ngoc Cuong expressed his pleasure to once again welcome Minister Rene Antonio Mesa Villafaña and the Cuban Ministry of Construction's delegation at CONINCO. The General Director hopes that this visit and work will be an opportunity for CONINCO and Cuban enterprises to discuss specific works in the coming time, contributing to promoting the comprehensive cooperation relationship between the two countries Vietnam - Cuba in general and between CONINCO and Cuban enterprises in particular.

General Director Phan Ngoc Cuong said, currently, the Vietnamese Government is promoting investment and development of transport infrastructure in order to create a synchronous and modern transport system across the country, opening up space for new socio-economic development, therefore, in addition to continuing to develop traditional construction fields: civil, industrial, technical infrastructure...CONINCO also focuses on expanding and developing the market of traffic works. This is also a strong area of DINVAI CONSTRUCCIONES SA when it has experience in implementing projects on Ho Chi Minh road, Truong Son Dong road… in Vietnam. DINVAI CONSTRUCCIONES SA is a company under the Cuban Ministry of Construction operating in Vietnam with more than 20 years of experience specializing in technical infrastructure development and providing technical services – expertise in the field of construction project management and qualified workforce. General Director Phan Ngoc Cuong hopes that CONINCO and Cuban enterprises will cooperate in the coming time to participate in bidding for traffic works, improve competitiveness as well as strengthen the cooperation relationship between the two sides.

Thanking General Director Phan Ngoc Cuong and CONINCO's Board of Directors for taking the time to welcome the delegation, Cuban Minister of Construction René Mesa Antonio Villafaña shared: This business trip of the Cuban Ministry of Construction delegation aims to prepare and unify the content of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of construction, towards signing it within the framework of the official visit to Cuba by the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam next time. On this mission, the Minister worked with enterprises in Vietnam, including CONINCO to strongly promote comprehensive trade cooperation between Cuban and Vietnamese enterprises, creating a bridge for business of the two countries to develop internal resources, capacity, support for mutual development not only in the Vietnamese market, but also in Cuba and other countries in the region.

The Minister highly appreciated the business development model of CONINCO and affirmed that CONINCO and Cuban construction enterprises can establish a comprehensive cooperation alliance to perform the strong services of the two sides. Currently, CONINCO has created favorable conditions for DINVAI Vietnam to participate in providing construction supervision consultancy services for a number of projects in Vietnam, the Minister believes that the two sides have full potential and necessary conditions to further strengthen the cooperation relationship.

Also during the meeting, the CONINCO’s Board of Directors and leaders of Cuban construction enterprises had specific discussions about cooperation plans in the near future with the hope that the parties would continue to have face-to-face meetings, share information to seek more extensive cooperation opportunities.

At the end of the meeting, on behalf of all CONINCO employees, General Director Phan Ngoc Cuong thanked the visit and working of the Minister, the Ambassador and the delegation of the Cuban Ministry of Construction at CONINCO. At the same time, the General Director thanked the trust, cooperation, support, and encouragement of the leaders of the Ministry of Construction of the two countries, the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam. 

CONINCO is always ready to share experiences and coordinate with Cuban construction enterprises to jointly implement new projects, especially in the field of transportation. We hope that CONINCO will continue to receive the support of the leaders of the two ministries in the upcoming development steps for a sustainable development and assurance for the future.
