Leadership the Department Housing Urban Planning the Ministry Public Works Transport Laos visited worked at CONINCO

On May 16th, 2019, a delegation of the Department of Housing and Urban Planning of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos visited and worked at Consultant and Inspection Joint Stock Company of Construction Technology and Equipment (CONINCO., JSC).
Attending the meeting, on the side of the Department of Housing and Urban Planning of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos, there were Mr. Somvan Mongphachan - Deputy Director, Ms. Malychanh Sananikhom - Director of PCU, Mr. Virachith Douangchanh - Deputy Director of PCU and Ms. Pham Thi Hong Diep - Project Accountant.
Welcoming the leaders of the Department of Housing and Urban Planning of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos, on the side of CONINCO, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Cong - Chairman of the BoM, Mr. Nguyen Huu Truong - Deputy General Director, Mr. Nguyen Dac Phuong - Manager of Marketing and International Relations Department, and Ms. Dau Thi Thu Dan – Deputy Manager of Marketing and International Relations Department, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai - Director of Major Construction Projects Management Center.
The Department of Housing and Urban Planning of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos is the Client of the Fourth Greater Mekong Subregion Corridor Towns Development Project (GMS CTDP4) funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), AMDI-CONINCO-BMEC consortium provides consulting services for this project as an international expert.
During this visit, the delegation of Laos Housing and Urban Planning Department acknowledged the positive, effective support and contribution of the CONINCO’s consultant team since the GMS CTDP4 project was launched. In addition, the delegation of the Department also had preliminary discussions on the project situation and set out the necessary requirements to receive support and cooperation from CONINCO. Mr. Somvan Mongphachan highly appreciated CONINCO's capacity, he hoped that with accumulated experience and reputation in the field of construction consultancy through projects in Vietnam and some previous projects in Laos, CONINCO would provide good service contributing to the success of the whole project.
In response to the aspirations of the delegation of Laos Housing and Urban Planning Department, the Chairman of BoM - Mr. Nguyen Van Cong committed to fulfilling the tasks of CONINCO in the project with the best quality according to the schedule required by the Client. The Chairman thanked the Department's leadership for trusting and appreciating CONINCO's professional competence, and Chairman Nguyen Van Cong also expressed his wish that the Board of Directors will support CONINCO's connection with the Laos authorities. In order to create favorable conditions for CONINCO to have the opportunity to participate in cooperation and implementation of projects that contribute to the development of infrastructure planning in Laos in particular and the development of Laos in general.
The meeting ended successfully, showing the trust and efforts of the two sides in the implementation of the project and contributing to tightening the good, friendly, cooperative, long-lasting neighborly relationship between 2 countries Vietnam - Laos.
* About GMS CTDP4: The Fourth Greater Mekong Subregion Corridor Towns Development Project (GMS CTDP4) will support the government of the Lao PDR in improving urban environmental services and enhance regional economic connectivity in the towns of Paksan and Thakhek, two towns located along the North-South Economic Corridor in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS). It will finance: (i) sewage networks and eight small-scale wastewater treatment facilities to improve sanitation; (ii) two controlled landfills and solid waste collection vehicles for municipal waste to improve waste collection and management, (iii) improved drainage and riverbank protection, (iv) rehabilitation of the old-town center to promote regional tourism in Thakhek, and; (v) city master plans to promote regional economic connectivity. The project will accelerate urban node development along the GMS North-South Economic Corridor in Lao PDR and promote 8th Five-year National Socio-Economic Development Plan, 2016 – 2020 of Lao PDR in order to balance regional and local development. Through the thorough and rigorous contractor selection process of the Asian Development Bank and the GMS 4 PMU, the AMDI-CONINCO-BMEC consortium has received the trust and appreciation to award the service implementation for this project. |
