In late September 2024, a delegation from CONINCO, lead by BoD’s member, General Director Phan Ngọc Cương, visited Yên Bái and provided support to the Lục Yên District Education Department and several schools that were heavily affected by Typhoon Yagi and its aftermath. The visit aimed to provide financial aid to help these educational institutions recover from the storm, ensuring that students could return to school and continue pursuing their dreams.
The delegation included Mr. Nguyễn Mạnh Tuấn – Board Member and Deputy General Director; Mr. Nguyễn Huy Quang – Party Secretary; Mr. Trần Thanh Hải – Deputy General Director; Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Bình – Chairman of the Labor Union, along with management leaders and CONINCO's consulting team based in Yên Bái.
Yên Bái is among the provinces hardest hit by Typhoon Yagi and its aftermath. According to a rapid provincial report, as of September 16, 54 people were reported dead or missing, with 36 injured. The storm impacted 25,159 houses, while transportation infrastructure, hydropower plants, irrigation systems, and telecommunications were severely damaged. Schools also suffered from landslides and flooding, leaving significant damage to educational facilities
In the spirit of solidarity and community support, following the Vietnamese saying "Treat others as you would want to be treated" and "The healthy leaf covers the torn one," the CONINCO delegation donated more than 200 million VND to several educational institutions: Lục Yên District Education Department, An Lạc Kindergarten, Phúc Lợi Kindergarten, and Minh Chuẩn Primary & Secondary School. These schools were among the hardest hit, with their facilities damaged and students facing difficulties returning to their studies.
Sharing in the losses of the people of Yên Bái, General Director Phan Ngọc Cương expressed his hope that CONINCO’s contribution would help the community through this difficult time and improve the learning conditions for students. He emphasized that CONINCO would continue to monitor the situation and provide timely support in the future, committed to bringing positive change to society and standing by the community in times of hardship.
