CONINCO Hosts Seminar on Training Strategy and Application of Science and Technology in Railway Construction in Vietnam

Implementing the company leadership's policy on preparing human resources in the railway construction sector, on the morning of August 9, 2024, the Consultant and Inspection Joint Stock Company of construction technology and equipment (CONINCO., Jsc) in collaboration with the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) organized a seminar on "Training Strategy and Application of Science and Technology in Railway Construction in Vietnam". The seminar aimed to disseminate and update knowledge for the company's engineers and staff about the latest technological developments in the global railway sector, the current technical state of domestic railways, as well as training and professional development programs in railway operations built on the integration of modern railway techniques for application in Vietnam.

The seminar was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung - Vice Rector of UTC and leading Professors and Doctors from the university.
From CONINCO's side, Mr. Phan Ngoc Cuong - Member of the Board of Directors, General Director; members of the Board of Management; leaders of management departments, units, and the company's engineers and staff were present.

Speaking at the seminar, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung congratulated CONINCO on its 45th anniversary. He noted that with 45 years of development and growth based on the philosophy of "sustainable development" and a commitment to "innovation, creativity, receptiveness to feedback, and continuous learning", CONINCO has become a reputable brand in Vietnam's construction sector in general and the transport sector in particular. UTC is the country's leading university in the transport sector, and specifically in the railway field, it is the first and only university in Vietnam to maintain comprehensive training in railway specializations at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr. Hung expressed hope that the content shared by UTC scientists would prove truly useful and practical for CONINCO's professional work.

Thanking the UTC Board of Management for their attention and assistance, and the enthusiastic cooperation of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in organizing this first seminar on railway transportation at CONINCO, General Director Phan Ngoc Cuong wished the seminar great success. He expressed hope that in the future, UTC and CONINCO would continue to collaborate to organize more training seminars, enhancing CONINCO's consulting capabilities in the railway transportation sector. This would enable CONINCO to build a workforce that meets the job requirements in the development strategy of the transport industry.

The seminar featured UTC scientists sharing three main topics:

1.    Outstanding achievements in railway industry development associated with the four industrial revolutions - presented by Professor Dr. Pham Van Ky, Senior Lecturer of the Railway Department, Faculty of Civil Engineering
2.    Current situation of railway construction in Vietnam in recent years and development trends - presented by Dr. Mai Tien Chinh, Head of Railway Department, Faculty of Civil Engineering
3.    Introduction to professional development and Railway Engineer training programs at UTC - presented by Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quoc Dat - Deputy Head of Railway Department, Faculty of Civil Engineering

The successful conclusion of the seminar marked a promising start in the cooperation between UTC and CONINCO. The practical and important topics shared at the seminar helped CONINCO understand the core aspects and development orientation of the railway sector in Vietnam. It also created opportunities for experts and CONINCO to discuss and identify future cooperation directions for training railway transportation human resources in the coming years.
