From December 8 to 12, 2025, in its role as the Project Implementation Consultant (PIC), Consultant and Inspection Joint Stock Company of construction technology and equipment – CONINCO successfully organized a study tour and experience exchange program on urban construction management in Hue and Da Nang. The delegation was led by Ms. Visaphone Inthilath – Deputy Director General of the Department of Housing and Urban Planning under the Lao Ministry of Public Works and Transport, alongside representatives from the Project Coordination Unit (PCU), Project Implementation Units (PIU), and urban management agencies from Paksan and Thakhek (Laos). Representing CONINCO was Mr. Dinh Xuan Son – Director of the Center of Construction Engineering (T.KC).
As part of the Fourth Greater Mekong Subregion Corridor Towns Development Project (GMS4), funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), this activity holds practical significance in supporting the Lao Government’s strategy to improve urban environmental services and enhance regional economic connectivity. The trip was identified as a key task to facilitate the exchange of lessons learned in urban management, thereby considering the application of effective Vietnamese models to development practices in Lao provinces, particularly in the context of climate change adaptation.
The journey began in Thua Thien Hue, where the delegation conducted site visits at the Phu Son Waste-to-Energy Plant and the Hue Wastewater Treatment Plant. By directly observing the technology lines and discussing operational models, the delegates gained multi-dimensional perspectives on urban waste and wastewater treatment—sectors that align with the infrastructure components targeted by the GMS4 project.
Continuing the professional agenda, the delegation traveled to Quang Nam to survey the river embankment project designed to protect the Hoi An Ancient Town. Here, experts from both countries engaged in lively discussions regarding experiences in planning and constructing embankments that integrate heritage conservation with disaster resilience. In addition to technical activities, the delegation visited renowned landmarks such as Hoi An Ancient Town and Ba Na Hills to further understand Vietnam’s culture and tourism management.
The business trip concluded successfully, not only enhancing the awareness and professional capacity of the Lao project management team but also establishing a close cooperative relationship between the two nations for future activities. This event once again affirms CONINCO’s professional coordination capacity in executing international consulting packages and underscores the company’s strong commitment to accompanying the sustainable development of the Greater Mekong Subregion.
